Kermit was one of more than 20 cats trapped at an auto repair business. He was part of a litter of kittens born at the end of 2023 and while their caretaker provided food, the cats struggled to find adequate shelter through the cold winter. As young kittens, he and his litter mates were most affected by the frigid weather conditions.
Kermit was under the weather when trapped and he only weighed 4 lbs. In addition, he was exhibiting some balance problems. It wasn’t initially known whether he would be successful at socialization. Because of his condition, he was kept for further tests, treatment and observation rather than returning him to his colony following his neuter. With time and antibiotics, his health improved and with minimal effort, he evolved into a confident, expressive and sweet cat who likes human attention and other cats.
He exhibits some minor CH (cerebellar hypoplasia) (wobbly kitten) type mannerisms which don’t affect his quality of life, and instead make him even more endearing. He was adopted in fall 2024!
